They were married at 12 noon yesterday on Whidbey Island in the state of Washington in the chapel on the naval base. Her friend Grace and and his friend Kelly stood with them. It was very nice to see Grace again and to get to know his friend Kelly. Hmmm ... Grace, Kelly.

Thanks to her dad Gil, LaLa, his mom and the family, as their kindnesses made the difficulties of my schedule easier to contend with. We actually returned on the same flight home, although we arrived on different flights. In our world and lives, Jenna Bush's little wedding the very same day to Henry at the Crawford Ranch in Texas was dwarfed by this moment in time. May our Lord God bless the life of our son and his new wife!

Whidbey is a lovely island; I was particularly impressed with the view from the bridge, Deception Pass, as we departed. Thanks to Kelly for getting me back to Seattle. It's about a 2-hour drive to Seattle and my flight departed 7am Sunday morning. I also was able to see a little of Seattle on the drive back to the airport as well - caught a glimpse of the QWest and other stadium. Now, on that day after, I am enjoying Mother's Day at home with my beloved and youngest, with the realization my family has grown larger.
